How many types of Surface areas we can calculate in 3-D objects?

We can calculate three types of Surface area in the three-dimensional objects. These are - 

1.  Total Surface Area
2. Curved Surface Area or Lateral Surface Area

Total surface area indicates the total area covered by the surface of the object. That is, if the shape of the object has a curved surface and base, then the total area will be the sum of the two areas. While Curved surface area indicates the area of only the curved part of the shape excluding its base(s).
