How many vaccinations are there?

There are at least 28 human diseases against which we have effective vaccines. The development of the first vaccine dates back to the late 18th century, with the creation of the smallpox vaccine. Since then, scientists have developed vaccines for a wide range of infectious diseases, including measles, polio, hepatitis B, HPV, influenza, and COVID-19, among others.

They are considered one of the most significant achievements in modern medicine, and ongoing research and development continue to expand the number of diseases against which we have effective vaccines.
