How much carbon dioxide is there in the atmosphere?

All living things are made of carbon. The amount of carbon in the earth's crust and atmosphere is quite small. The earth's crust contains only 0.02 percent carbon in the form of minerals (such as carbonates, hydrogen carbonates, coal, and petroleum), while the atmosphere contains 0.03 percent carbon dioxide.
