Detailed Solution

A complete revision of the voters' list takes place every year. The voters' list, officially called the Electoral Roll, is revised every year by the Election Commission of India. The revision takes place from September to October, and the newly revised list is published in the first week of January of the coming year. To ensure that as many qualified voters as possible participate in the elections, this is done. The electoral roll is updated as more persons reach the voting age. The Indian Election Commission is responsible for maintaining and updating the voter list which is also called the electoral roll.
