How to apply for voter card online

You can apply online for a voter card (or voter ID) in India through the official Election Commission of India (ECI) portal by filling Form 6 and uploading necessary documents.

Steps:

1. Go to the ECI National Voter Services Portal (nvsp.in).
2. Create an account or login if you already have one.
3. Select “Apply online for registration of new voter (Form 6)”.
4. Fill the form with your details: name, date of birth, address, constituency etc.
5. Upload scanned copies of Identity proof and Address proof (like Aadhaar, passport etc).
6. Submit the form and take note of the reference number for tracking.
7. A field verification may follow. Once approved, you’ll receive your voter card at address or digitally.
