Detailed Solution

Tea and coffee plantations affected forests' cash crops at a high level and were planted after cutting forests because of the shortage of land. Large areas of natural forests were cleared to meet Europe's growing need for these commodities. The British directly encouraged the production of commercial crops like jute, sugar, wheat, cotton, tea and coffee. As a result, it was in high demand. In the nineteenth century, the demand for these crops increased in Europe, where there was a need for food grains to feed the growing urban population and the raw materials needed for industrial production.
