How would you obtain clear water from a sample of muddy water?

We can obtain clear water from muddy water using the filtration method. 

In this method, we will get a funnel and place a filter on it. 

And in the next step, we will pour the muddy water into the funnel covered with filter paper. This will result in clear water collecting in the container below and the mud particles will be left on the filter paper. 

The reason is that the size of mud particles is larger than the pores present on the filter paper where as water molecules can easily pass through because they are smaller in size.
