Detailed Solution

Humayun had to flee to Iran because he was defeated by Sher Khan twice. After Babur's demise in 1530, Humayun took the throne. Each brother received a province as a result of Humayun dividing the Mughal Empire in accordance with Pe Babur's wishes. His brother, Mirza Kamran, though, had other ideas for Humayun. Being ambitious, Mirza Kamran hid behind Humayun to plan a plot against the Afghan leader with rival businessmen. Consequently, Humayun lost to the Afghan nobleman Sher Khan at the Battle of Chausa (1539) and the Battle of Kanauj (1540) as a result of this incident. Humayun was forced to flee to Iran after being twice defeated by Sher Khan. When Humayun received assistance from the Safavid Shah to retake Delhi in 1555, things for him in Iran began to improve. Sadly, he was involved in an accident the year after and died.
