Children from "Good German" families had to go through a period of ideological indoctrination known as Nazi schooling. The Nazis revised the school textbooks and introduced racial science that supported Nazi race ideologies. As a result, children were taught to hate Jews, to worship Hitler, and to be obedient and faithful. In addition, they compelled all males to join the Hitler Youth, a Nazi youth group, at the age of 14. There, they were taught to adore war, exalt aggression and violence, decry democracy, and hate Jews, communists, Gipsies, and anyone else deemed "undesirable".
