Detailed Solution

(i) Write balanced chemical equation for chemical change.

(ii) Find limiting reagent.

(iii) Amount of product formed will be determined by amount of limiting reagent.

The balanced equation is :

3BaCl23moles0.5moles  +  2Na3PO42 moles0.2moles       Ba3PO42+6NaCl1mole       ?

0.5moles of BaCl2 require 0.5×23(>0.2)moles of Na3PO4

Hence Limiting  reagent  isNa3PO4  0.2mol,  BaCl2  isin  excess.

From the above equation :

       2.0  moles  ofNa3PO4  yields →1mole of Ba3PO42   0.2  molesofNa3PO4  will  yield            ?                                            =12  ×  0.2  =0.1  mol.
