Given,
Number of days required by 12 men to dig the pond

= 8

.
Let the number of days required by 6 men to dig the pond be x.
Then,

Number of days	8	x
Number of men	12	6

We can clearly observe that, lesser the number of men, more will be the number of days required to dig the pond.
Therefore, this is the case of inverse proportion.
As this is case of inverse proportion, therefore the product will remain constant throughout table that is,

8 × 12 = x × 6

Solving the equation,

6 x = 96 x = 966 x = 16

Hence, 6 men can dig the pond in 16 days. Therefore, option 4 is correct.
