We have to find the LCM of a and b, if a and b are relatively prime numbers.
Since a and b are relatively prime numbers, a and b have only 1 as their common factor. that is,
HCF(a,b)=1   ……. (1)
Apply the property of LCM, HCF and product of the numbers and substitute the value of HCF from (1):
LCM(a,b)×HCF(a,b)=a×b LCM(a,b)×1=a×b LCM(a,b)=a×b Therefore, LCM of a and b is a×b.
