The object should be placed at a distance of 5 cm and 15 cm in front of the concave mirror.
Given,
Focal length, f= -10 cm (concave mirror)
Case-1
The image is real, and its magnification, m= -2
From the relation of magnification, distance of object and image
m= -vu
Here
 = -2 
-2 = -vu
     v = 2
The relation between image distance, object distance and focal length is given below
      1+1u=1f
12u+1u=1-10
       1+22u=1-10
         32u=1-10
          2u= -10×3
             u=-10×32
             u= -15 cm
Thus, the object should be placed at 15 cm in front of the concave mirror.

The image is virtual, and its magnification, m= +2
From the relation of magnification, distance of object and image
m= -vu
Here
m= +2
+2= -vu
  2u= -v
     v= -2u
The relation between image distance, object distance and focal length is given below
 1+1u=1f
1-2+1u=1-10
        -1+22u=1-10
             12u=1-10
              2u= -10
                u= -5cm
Thus, the object should be placed at 5 cm in front of the concave mirror.
