Detailed Solution

It is given that,
A die is thrown.
We know that six faces on a die are numbered as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Total number of possible outcomes = 6.
Let, E = Event of getting a number, which is even and greater than 2.
Numbers which are even and greater than 2 are 4, 6.
Then number of outcomes favorable to E = 2.
Then, probability,
P(E)= Number of favourable outcomes Total number of outcomes
P E = 2 6   P E = 1 3   Therefore, the probability of getting a number, which is even and greater than 2 is 13 .
Hence, option (3) is correct.
