Detailed Solution

Given that if a radio is sold at Rs. 972, then profit is 8%.
Let the cost price of the radio is Rs.x.
Since,
S.P.-C.P.=P% of C.P.
972-x=8100x 225x+x=972
2x+25x25=972 x=97227×25
x=900
Hence the cost price of radio is Rs.900.
Now,
Selling price of radio =Rs.872 Cost price of radio =Rs.900
Therefore,
Loss = Cost price - Selling price
Loss =900-872
Loss=Rs.28
Hence when the radio is sold at Rs.872, then there is a loss of Rs.28.
Therefore, the correct option is 1.
