We have been given,
A square plot of side ‘m’.
As we know, the area of a square is the product of its sides.
We have given that the side of the square plot is m and the height and base of the triangular plot is m.
The area of the square plot = m 2   .
The area of triangular plot: 1 2 ×m×m= m 2 2   .
Total area of the plots = area of square plot + area of triangular plot
Taking the L.C.M. of 1 and 2 i.e., 2,
= m 2 + m 2 2 = 2 m 2 + m 2 2 = 3 m 2 2  
Therefore, the total area of both plots is 3 m 2 2  .
Hence, option 3 is correct.
