Let edge of the cube = a
Volume of the old cube = a 3  
Given, the edge of the old cube is doubled.
i.e., Edge of the cube a = 2a
Substitute value of new edge 2a in the formula,
Volume of the new cube
a 3 (2a) 3 2×2×2×a×a×a 8× a 3  
Thus, the volume of the new cube is eight times of the volume of the old cube.
