Detailed Solution

Given, mth term of an A.P. is n and  nth term is m.
The  nth term of an A.P is calculated using an=a+(n-1)d.
The rththe term of an A.P is
a = a, n = r,
ar=a+(r-1)d.
Substitute values for mth term,
am=a+(m-1)d a+(m-1)d=n    ….(i)
Substitute values for nth term,
a+(n-1)d=m     ….(ii)
Solve equation (i) and (ii),
n-m=m-1d-n-1d n-m=md-d-nd+d n-m=(md-nd) n-m=-dn-m d=-1 Substitute the value in equation (i),
a+(m-1)(-1)=n a-m+1=n a=m+n-1 Then (r)thterm is,
ar=a+(r-1)d ar=n+m-1+(r-1)(-1) ar=n+m-1-r+1  ar=n+m-r Hence rth term is n+m-r
Therefore, option 1 is correct.
