If on a shelf, books with a green cover and that with a brown cover are in the ratio of 2:3 and 18 books with a green cover, then the number of books with a brown cover is 27.
Let us assume that 2x is the number of books with a green cover and 3x is the number of books with a brown cover.

2x=18  
x=9
