Here, P is the mid-point of MN.

i.e. MP = $\frac{1}{2}\mathrm{MN}$ ....(i)

Now, C is the mid-point of MP.

So, MC = $\frac{1}{2}\mathrm{MP}$ 

=> MP = 2MC ... (ii)

From (i) and (ii), we get:

2MC = $\frac{1}{2}\mathrm{MN}$

=> 4MC = MN

=> MC = $\frac{1}{4}\mathrm{MN}$
