If the component has two terminals, it could be a resistor, a capacitor, a diode or an LED. Identify them from a mixed collection by matching the following.
[Take multimeter in resistance mode and high range]
Match the following

	List A		List B
A	Resistor	P	Multimeter shows no deflection on connection its terminals either way to the component
B	Capacitor	Q	Multimeter does not show any deflection in one direction and shows deflection in other direction with no emission of light
C	Diode	R	Multimeter shows equal deflections even after reversal of the terminals of the component
D	LED	S	Multimeter does not show any deflection in one direction and shows deflection in other direction with  emission of light
