Given quadratic equation is,
9x2+6kx+4=0.
We know that, a quadratic equation ax2+bx+c=0 has two equal roots if b2-4ac=0.
After comparing the given equation 9x2+6kx+4=0 with the standard form of the quadratic equation, we get,
a=9,b=6k,c=4.
Then,
b2-4ac=0
6k2-4×9×4=0
36k2-144=0
36k2=144
k2=14436
k2=123
k2=2
 k=±2
If the equation 9x2+6kx+4=0 has equal roots then k=±2
Hence, the correct option is 3.
