This quadratic expression will be a perfect square if the
discriminant of its corresponding equation is zero. Hence,

$4(\mathrm{a}+\mathrm{b}+\mathrm{c}{)}^2-4\times 3(\mathrm{bc}+\mathrm{ca}+\mathrm{ab})=0$

or   $(\mathrm{a}+\mathrm{b}+\mathrm{c}{)}^2-3(\mathrm{bc}+\mathrm{ca}+\mathrm{ab})=0$

or   ${\mathrm{a}}^2+\mathrm{b}+{\mathrm{c}}^2+2\mathrm{ab}+2\mathrm{bc}+2\mathrm{ca}-3(\mathrm{bc}+\mathrm{ca}+\mathrm{ab})=0$

or   ${\mathrm{a}}^2+{\mathrm{b}}^2+{\mathrm{c}}^2-\mathrm{abbc}-\mathrm{ca}=0$

or   $\frac{1}{2}\left[2{\mathrm{a}}^2+2{\mathrm{b}}^2+2{\mathrm{c}}^2-2\mathrm{ab}-2\mathrm{bc}-2\mathrm{ca}\right]=0$

or   $\frac{1}{2}\left[\left({\mathrm{a}}^2+{\mathrm{b}}^2-2\mathrm{ab}\right)+\left({\mathrm{b}}^2+{\mathrm{c}}^2-2\mathrm{bc}\right)+\left({\mathrm{c}}^2+{\mathrm{a}}^2-2\mathrm{ca}\right)\right]=0$

or  $\frac{1}{2}\left[(\mathrm{a}-\mathrm{b}{)}^2+(\mathrm{b}-\mathrm{c}{)}^2+(\mathrm{c}-\mathrm{a}{)}^2\right]=0$

which is possible only when $(\mathrm{a}-\mathrm{b}{)}^2=0,(\mathrm{b}-\mathrm{c}{)}^2=0$

and $(\mathrm{c}-\mathrm{a}{)}^2=0,\text{ i.e., }\mathrm{a}=\mathrm{b}=\mathrm{c}$
