Given hyperbola x2-y2=a2

Let P(θ)=(asecθ,atanθ) be any point on given hyperbola

 Equation of tangent at P(θ) is  xsecθytanθ=a It meets coordinate axes at a1  and b1 then

 a1=asecθ,b1=atanθ

Normal at P(θ) is xsecθ+ytanθ=2a

it meets coordinate axes at a2,b2 then

a2=2asecθ,b2=2atanθ Now a1a2+b1b2=asecθ(2a secθ)+-atanθ(2atanθ)                                =2a2 -2a2  =0
