Concep- We now understand that 1000 meters equal one kilometer. Therefore, using this conversion, we will first convert the data in Km. Once the units are equal, we will now sum the lengths of the two roads to determine their combined length.

L 1 = 25 km + 0.5 km = 25.5 km

∴ L 1 + L 2 = 25.5 + 30.4 = 55.9 km

The combined length of both roads is

55.9 km
