Associative law: For any three matrices $\mathrm{A}=\left[{\mathrm{a}}_{\mathrm{ij}}\right]$,

$\mathrm{B}=\left[{\mathrm{b}}_{\mathrm{ij}}\right]\text{ and }\mathrm{C}=\left[{\mathrm{c}}_{\mathrm{ij}}\right]$ of the same order, say m × n,

$(\mathrm{A}+\mathrm{B})+\mathrm{C}=\mathrm{A}+(\mathrm{B}+\mathrm{C})$

Now, $(\mathrm{A}+\mathrm{B})+\mathrm{C}=\left(\left[{\mathrm{a}}_{\mathrm{ij}}\right]+\left[{\mathrm{b}}_{\mathrm{ij}}\right]\right)+\left[{\mathrm{c}}_{\mathrm{ij}}\right]$
