Detailed Solution

Given that median is 28.5 and the data,
Question ImageWe find the cumulative frequency,
Question ImageSo median class = 20 - 30 and we have,
45 + f1+f2=60 f1+f2=15 — (1)
Here,
lower limit of modal class, (l)=20
width of modal class,(h) =10
 c=5 f=20
Also,
N2=602
N2=30
So median will be,
Median =l+N2-cf×h
8.5=20+(30-5-f120)×10 8.5=25-f12
25-f1=17
f1=8 Substituting in eq(1),
8+f2=15
f2=7
So f1=8 and f2=7.
Hence, the correct option is 2.
