We need to find the value of k.
Midpoint of two points  (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is calculated by the formula,
(x1+x22,y1+y22) So, the midpoint of  (-7,14),(k,4)=(a,b),
(-7+k2,14+42) = (a,b) Equating x and y-coordinates, we get,
a=-7+k2 and b=9 2a+3=5 (Given)
2×-7+k2+3(9) = 5 -7+k+27=5 k=-15 Thus, the value of k is -15.
