If the points of zero magnetic field arising from the center of a bar magnet are in the East and West direction then the direction in which the bar magnet’s north pole lies is towards North.
Since the zero magnetic field point from the center is along the east and west sides of the bar magnet.The possibility that the field direction and that of the earth is in the same direction is high. Hence the north pole will be along the north direction and south along the south direction.
