Detailed Solution

Given, the sides of a parallelogram are increased to twice its original lengths.
The perimeter of a parallelogram is twice the sum of its length and width.
Let us assume the original length and breadth of the given parallelogram as l and b respectively.
So, the perimeter of the original parallelogram will be,
=2 l+b
Next, when the side lengths are made twice their lengths, then the new dimensions of the parallelogram will be,
l2l b2b
Then, the new perimeter of the parallelogram will be,
=2 2l+2b =2×2 l+b
So, if we compare the original and the new perimeters of the parallelogram, we can say that the new perimeter is twice the original perimeter.
Hence, the correct option is (2).
