If the speed of an object is doubled, then its kinetic energy will become four times.
We know that Kinetic energy is directly proportional to the object's mass and the square of the velocity.
Mathematically express as:
Kinetic energy, K.E =12mv2   ….i
Where m is the mass of the object and v is the velocity of the object.
Since, if the speed of the body is doubled then,
K.E=12m2v2       v=2v
     =4×12mv2     K.=4×K.            from equation (i)
