If the speed of an object increases along a straight line, then the direction of velocity is [[1]] (same/different) as the direction in which an object is moving. 

When an object moves along a straight line, its velocity is determined by its speed and the direction in which it is moving. 

If the speed of the object increases, then the magnitude of its velocity increases as well, but the direction of velocity remains the same as long as the object continues to move along a straight line.

However, if the object is moving in a curved path or accelerating, then the direction of velocity may not remain the same even if the speed increases.
