Detailed Solution

Let a be the first term and d be the common difference. General term (nth term) of the AP is

Tn=a+(n1)d

As given, Tj=a+(j1)d=k       ......(1)

Tk=a+(k1)d=j                       .....(2)

Subtracting (2) from (1) we get

(jk)d=kjd=1

On putting d=1 in (1), we get

a+(j1)(1)=k a=k+j1

Now, Tk+j=a+(k+j1)d=k+j1+[(k+j)1](1)=(k+j1)(k+j1)=0
