Detailed Solution

i)   Two numbers are selected from 1 – 20 natural numbers

 n(S)=20C2

ii) Let E be the event of selecting that sum of two numbers is odd,

even no’s =10 , odd no’s =10

n(E)=10C110C1,  n(S)=20C2

P(E)=n(E)n(S)=10×1020C2 =10×1020×191×2

=10×10×220×19=1019

Probability of selecting two numbers sum is odd=10/19

iii) Probability of selecting two numbers whose sum is even =11019=919
