Detailed Solution

Given points A=(6, 3), B=(-3, 5), C=(4, -2), D=(x, 3x)

Area of  ABC=126(5+2)-3(-2-3)+4(3-5)

                         = 1242+15-8                          =1249                          =492

 Area of  DCB=12x(-2-5)+4(5-3x)+(-3)(3x+2)

             =12-7x+20-12x-9x-6             =12-28x+14             = -14x+7

Given that Area of  ABC=2 (Area of  DCB)

492=2-14x+7 49=4×7(-2x+1) 7=4-2x+1 -2x+1=±74 -2x+1=74  (or)  -2x+1=-74 -2x=74-1  (or)  -2x=-74-1 -2x=34                -2x=-114 x=-38                   x=118  x=-38  (or)  118
