Detailed Solution

Given equation is  x2+px+q=0

sinθ,cosθ  are the roots of given equation

Sum of the roots is sinθ+cosθ=p , ….. ( 1 )

Product of the roots is sinθcosθ=q  …… ( 2 )

From ( 1 ):

sinθ+cosθ=p ,

Squaring on both sides, we get

sin2θ+cos2θ+2sinθcosθ=p2   (sin2θ+cos2θ=1,sinθcosθ=q)

1+2q=p2

p2=2q+1
