Let the four points represented by z1,z2,z3,z4 in the Agrand plane be A,B,C,D respectively. 

Since ABCD is a square, midpoint of AC = midpoint of BD. 

i.e, 12z1+z3=12z2+z4 or z1+z3=z2+z4. Since AB=BC=CD=DA we have z1-z2=z2-z3=z3-z4=z4-z1 Since the diagonals of the square are equal AB=CD, we have z1-z3=z2-z4 Since ACBD, z1-z3z2-z4 is pure imaginary
