Detailed Solution

Iltumish was the father of the Razia sultan. According to the historical chronicler of the time, Minhaj-i Siraj, she was more competent and qualified than all of her brothers. However, he did not feel at ease with a queen ruling. The nobles also disapproved of her attempts to rule on her own. In 1240, she was deposed from the throne. Inscriptions and coins stated that she was the daughter of Sultan Iltutmish. This was in contrast to the Kakatiya dynasty queen, Rudramadevi (1262–1289), of Warangal, present-day Andhra Pradesh.
