In 1918, Gandhiji went to Ahmedabad to organise a satyagraha movement amongst cotton mill workers. Gandhi conducted the Ahmedabad satyagraha when there was a wage dispute between mill owners and workers, known as the Ahmedabad mill strike. Gandhi led a hunger strike in Ahmedabad. Eventually, the mill owners agreed to hear out the demands of the workers.
