In December 1920, the Non-cooperation movement was commenced under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. The Non-Cooperation Movement was endorsed by Congress during the Nagpur Conference in December 1920 and it commenced under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. The campaign would begin with a surrender of titles, honors and honorary jobs by persons. The movement would cut ties with the British Armed Forces, Police, Courts, Legislative Assemblies, Schools, and Colleges, as well as British-made products. To support local cottage industries, domestic or Swadeshi products would take the place of British products.
