Detailed Solution

In solids, the heat is generally transferred by the conduction process.
Thermal conduction is the process of the transfer of heat (internal energy) by rigorous vibration of the microscopic particles and transferring the energy from one particle to another without any actual flow of the particles. For example, heat is conducted from the bottom of a saucepan in contact with a stove to the saucepan's handle. Generally, solids are conductors of heat, and heat is transferred through conduction. In liquids, heat is transferred through convection. In liquids and gases, the heat is transferred by convection.
