Detailed Solution

Gandhi broke the salt law in Dandi by collecting and boiling sea water to produce salt.
Mahatma Gandhi led the nonviolent civil disobedience movement known as the Salt March, sometimes referred to as the Salt Satyagraha, the Dandi March, and the Dandi Satyagraha, in colonial India. The twenty-four-day march, which served as a direct campaign of tax resistance and peaceful protest against the British salt monopoly, lasted from March 12 to April 6, 1930. The people engaged in widespread civil disobedience. Other unpopular tax rules, like the forest laws, the chowkidar tax, the land tax, etc., were disobeyed in addition to the salt tax.
