The parties may form a coalition government by forming an alliance with other parties. India has a multi-party political system. There are many different types of ideologies in a multi-party system, and there is no rigid discipline among the parties. In a multi-party system, no single party forms a government; instead, several parties form a coalition government that must rely on the goodwill of Parliament. As a result, the Cabinet cannot impose its will on the Parliament by establishing a dictatorship. Where there are many parties, the electorate has a broader choice because they vote for only those who share their values.
