In 1526, Babur defeated the Sultan of Delhi, Ibrahim Lodi, at Panipat and captured Delhi and Agra.
The first Mughal Emperor was Babur. When he was only 12 years old, he claimed Ferghana's throne in 1494. Because of the invasion of another Mongol group, the Uzbeks, he was forced to leave his ancestral throne. In 1504, after many years of wandering, he captured the city of Kabul. In 1526 at Panipat, he defeated the Sultan of Delhi, Ibrahim Lodi, and captured Delhi and Agra. In 1527, he defeated Rana Sanga, the Rajput rulers, and allies at Khanua. He defeated the Rajputs at Chanderi in 1528 and established control over Delhi and Agra before his death. Babur died in Agra in 1530.
