Detailed Solution

In 1786, the steam engine was invented by Richard Arkwright. In the early eighteenth century, England's textile industries were barely starting. As a result, competing with Indian textiles was tough for English manufacturers. Because of the competition from Indian textiles, England looked for technological innovation. John Kaye devised the Spinning Jenny in 1764, enhancing traditional spindles' output. The steam engine arrived next. Richard Arkwright came up with the idea in 1786. In England, these two inventions transformed cotton textile weaving. Cloth could now be produced in massive quantities and at a low cost.
