Detailed Solution

In 1932, the Poona Pact was signed between Ambedkar and Gandhi to resolve the issue of separate electorates for Dalits. It was an agreement signed on behalf of the depressed class on September 24th, 1932 in the Yerwada Central Jail Poona for the reservation of electoral seats in the British Government's Legislature. As per Ambedkar, the rights of the oppressed were more essential than autonomy. On the other hand, Gandhi was fighting a two-front war, for the independence of India and on the other, for Hindu society's unity.
