Detailed Solution

In 1972, Ambedkar started a Temple Entry Movement.
Born into a Mahar family, Ambedkar learned the practical effects of caste prejudice when he was a little boy. He was not permitted to drink water from the taps used by upper-caste students and had to sit on the ground outside the classroom during the lesson. Ambedkar's supporters from the Mahar caste took part in a temple entry movement he initiated in 1927. When the Dalits drank water from the temple tank, Brahman priests were furious. From 1927 to 1935, Ambedkar oversaw three of these campaigns for temple entrance. His mission was to expose the pervasiveness of caste discrimination in society.
