Detailed Solution

In a circular motion, a body moves in a circular path but in rotation, the body moves about its axis.
If a body moves in a circular path, it is called circular motion, but if it moves about its axis, it is called rotational motion.
For example, when the earth revolves around the sun, its motion is circular, while when it rotates about its axis, its motion is rotational. Some examples of circular motion are: a car going around a roundabout and the moon orbiting around the Earth, Some examples of rotational motion are: Wheels of a Moving Vehicle, Fan Blades and Clock Ticking.
