Detailed Solution

Given, in a furniture shop, 24 tables were bought for ₹ 450 per table. The shopkeeper sold 16 tables at the price of ₹ 600 per table and the remaining at the price of 400 per table.
His investment = Number of tables×Cost of each table
              = 24×450
   = ₹ 10800
Earnings = Number of tables×Cost of each table
    = 16×600 + (24 - 16)×400
    = 9600 + 3200
    = ₹ 12800
Profit or loss percent = earnings - investmentinvestment×100
Profit or loss percent = 12800 - 1080010800×100
Profit or loss percent = 200010800×100
Profit or loss percent = 0.1852×100
Profit or loss percent = 18.52%
Since the percent is positive, he got a profit of 18.52%.
Hence, option 1 is correct.
