Detailed Solution

Given, in a programme, 250 tickets of cost ₹ 400 and 500 tickets of cost ₹ 100 were sold. If the entertainment tax is 40% on a ticket of cost ₹ 400 and 20% on a ticket of cost ₹ 100.
Money collected = Number of tickets×Cost of each ticket
Money collected = 250×400 + 500×100 = 100000 + 50000 = ₹ 150000
Money collected as tax = Number of tickets×Tax on each ticket
Money collected as tax = 250×40100×400 + 250×20100×100
     = 40000 + 10000
     = ₹ 50000
Hence, money collected as tax is ₹ 50000.
So, option 2 is correct.
